Lake Austin Party Boat Rentals: Pontoon or Double Decker?

2 min read

Whether it's a bachelorette, a birthday, a reunion or a team outing, a party boat is the best way to celebrate on Lake Austin. We run two kinds of party boats, and choosing the right one comes down to group size and how much action you want.

Option 1: Party Cove Pontoon

  • Guests: up to 15

  • Price: from $294 plus tax and tip (3 hours, Monday to Thursday)

  • Onboard: shade cover, large cooler, Bluetooth speaker, lily pad, life jackets

  • Best for: birthdays, bachelorettes up to 15, families, and laid-back days at Party Cove

Option 2: Double Decker with two slides

  • Guests: up to 24

  • Price: from $585 plus tax and tip (3 hours, Monday to Thursday)

  • Onboard: two full decks, two waterslides off the upper deck, shade, Bluetooth stereo, giant lily pad

  • Best for: big bachelorette and bachelor groups, kids' parties, corporate outings, anyone who wants the slides

How to choose

  • More than 15 people? Go double decker.

  • Want slides? Go double decker.

  • Smaller group or tighter budget? The pontoon is the best value on the lake.

  • Mixed ages? Both work. The double decker gives kids something to do; the pontoon is calmer.

Every party boat includes

  • A licensed captain, so nobody in your group drives

  • Fuel, with no per-person fees

  • BYOB in cans or plastic (no glass, no red wine)

  • Pickup at the Loop 360 Boat Ramp under the Pennybacker Bridge

A typical 3-hour party

  • Board, meet your captain and cruise under the Pennybacker Bridge

  • Anchor at Party Cove to swim, float and slide

  • Cruise past the lakefront mansions and Little Venice for photos

  • Optional restaurant drop-off at Hula Hut or Ski Shores (4-hour trips recommended)

Tips for booking

  • Saturdays sell out first, especially in summer.

  • Weekdays cost less and the lake is quieter.

  • Use rideshare to the ramp; parking is limited.
