Longhorn Leisure is hiring Boat Captains to join our growing Lake Austin charter team. If you enjoy being on the water, leading groups, and creating unforgettable experiences, this is a great opportunity.

 

We are looking for reliable, professional captains who prioritize safety while delivering a fun, high-energy experience.

Captain Requirements

All Boat Captains must:

 

• Meet USCG requirements

• Complete the Texas Parks & Wildlife Boater Safety Course (TPWD) before becoming a Captain

• Have strong customer service skills

• Be comfortable managing groups (bachelorette parties, birthdays, corporate outings, etc.)

• Be punctual, responsible, and safety-focused

 

You must complete your Boater Safety Course to become a Captain. Do not apply if you have not completed or are not willing to complete it immediately.

 

 

Compensation

 

• Starting Pay: $20/hour + Tips

• Strong tipping potential during peak season

 

 

Estimated Hours

 

Slow Season (Nov – Feb):

4–12 hours per week (mainly weekends)

 

High Season (March – Oct):

8–30 hours per week (Thursday–Sunday availability preferred)

 

 

 Season & Schedule

 

• Semi-Slow Season: March 1 – April 30

• Busy Season: May 1 – November 1

• Saturdays are the busiest day by far

• Fridays & Sundays are next busiest

• Weekend-only schedules available upon request
